Top quality wines fairly priced. What is evident is the quality of the fruit. The old adage: good wines is made in the vineyard comes to the fore. The whites – the Verdelho and Chardonnay have soe “body” and good viscosity. The fruit does the talking. the Kosovich family know how to get the best out of their vineyards. The rose is all class. The family has been in business for a century – when you taste the wines you can understand why.

Chenin Blanc 2021, Swan Valley
This is a younger releae chenin and shows all of the fresh precision and nuance that comes at this inchoate stage. It is decidely savoury and spicy actually; cloves, star anise, pickle juice and brine, along with the more expected characters of apples, apricots, lanolin, cheesecloth adn wax. We know how well these wines age, and now we can experience their youth too. A shift in head space from the usually toasty Kosovich chenins, but a good one.

Amazing family winery. All wines tasted were superb but special mention to the Rare Muscat – out of this world. Thank you for such great wines. Will be ordering more online soon!!!
Jason Border – Google Review, July 2022
The glowing praise for the chenin is justified, but there are some absolutely brilliant value wines to be found in the rest of the range too. Will be back on the next visit without a double

Let’s talk about Verdelho – particular this stellar 2020 vintage from John Kosovich Wines. It definitely holds a surprising kick of boldness that I didn’t expect, but I find most wines I try from John Kosovich surprise me in the best kind of way!
They’re unique – simply one-of-a-kind… And I rate them highly based on that fact alone. Now, let’s talk flavours… After the initial soft fruity smell, I meant it when I said I was surprised at the boldness of this wine. Strong citrus flavours and bright acidity sparked my soul alight quite suddenly, and lingered long enough to develop and delighten as my taste buds enjoyed the assault of various summer fruits dancing over my palate.
It was a journey, and a highly enjoyable one at that! Highly recommended John Kosovich Wines for every wine they skilfully produce.

A small winemaker making high quality wines. Balanced oak, fruit and soil characteristics in all their wines from vineyards in their Swan Valley and Manjimup vineyards.

I had the pleasure of seeing the amazing collection of aged wines at John Kosovich Wines this weekend, while meeting the legends behind this iconic winery.
John Kosovich Wines turns 100 this year. Your senses are pleasantly overwhelmed with this history from the moment you pull up to this vineyard. You can smell the old wine barrels, see the beautiful character in every wooden beam, taste incredible skill and talent in the wines, and feel the passion of a family owned and run business for the last 100 years.
Congratulations guys. Here’s to what will be, no doubt, another 100 years or more, still going strong. Check out the winery that is the heart of the Swan Valley wine region – John Kosovich Wines.

I have to say, this has got to be my FAVOURITE red wine to date. No joke.If you haven’t tried this Cabernet Malbec 2016 vintage from John Kosovich Wines… You have to! The aromas alone were absolutely divine. A dark berry fragrance that I literally could not stop inhaling. And then the taste… Those flavours… I’m a writer and there are NO WORDS!!! I’m speechless.
This wine took me on a journey of self discovery. From the anticipation of trying it, to the robust and fruity fragrance when pouring into the glass, to the velvety feel and exquisite and perfectly timed aftertaste of black fruits with a mild peppery finish. I adore this wine. The ruby-red colour had me fixated from the moment it left the bottle to the air as I slowly poured into my glass. It is medium bodied and absolutely perfect for new red wine drinkers and connoisseurs alike.Guys, you absolutely nailed this one. I tried this slightly more chilled than recommended due to the heat… But once it adjusted, the beautiful flavours presented themselves one-by-one.Thanks for supplying @partnersinwinewa

Delightful Wine Tasting Experience Nov. 2021 • We had a wonderful tasting at John Kosovich Winery last weekend. We booked our small group in for a tasting and Ray Kosovich gave us a history of, not only the winery, but also the underground cellar the tasting was held in, which was dug by hand by his Grandfather. It is a unique experience to be in a room with such historical significance, given it is the cellar tasting room in WA. The wines we tasted certainly reflected that. Significance. To taste the award winning 2015 Chenin, the Chenin that is THE best in Australia, was a real treat. Overall, the tasting was informative, full of information and good humour and delicious wine. My husband and I have bought a few bottles to make our Christmas Day special this year. We love keeping it small and local. Thanks John Kosovich Wines!
AUSTRALIA IS FILLED WITH VINEYARDS THAT LIE UNNOTICED until a change in fashion casts them into the spotlight. the old chenin blanc vines grown at the John Kosovich winery in Western Australia’s Swan Valley is one such vineyard, illuminated by a current interest in chenin blanc from a new generation of wine lovers. Planted in 1962, it produces distinctive, age-worthy wines with intensity and freshness, lighter than a chardonnay, with the acid line of a riesling, and when aged, they are hauntingly reminiscent of Hunter semillon.

Had a delightful visit to the winery and a very interesting chat to the friendly owners who explained the history of the 100yr old winery. Even got shown a grape vine that was 100yrs old and still producing grapes. Highly recommend a visit. Thanks for the great afternoon.

Really fantastic customer service from both Paula and Arch. Paula was so quick to reply to my message on here, and today when I went on Arch was very friendly and polite and even remembered what Wine my mother liked from over a year ago!

Value and quality wines from Swan Valley or Pembeton Jul. 2020 . Arch, the owner, takes you through some wonderful wines in a fantasic underground cellar. The aged chenin, chardonnay, pinot and cabernet are top class wines. There is no pressure to purchase, but the quality will tempt you to open your wallet. We have never been disappointed previously with any purchase.

Have you tried a wine made from Malbec? Have you tried a wine made from Petit Verdot? Have you tried a wine made from the 2 put together? Aka a MPV
My friends over at John Kosovich Wines in Perth’s Swan Valley have done just that (thank you for the sample guys!).These 2 varietals thrive in the Swan Valley’s warm Mediterranean climate. It’s nearly a 50/50 blend with the makeup being 52% Malbec and 48% PV. The two batches of juice are aged in French oak separately and then are blended just before bottling.“Our aim is to create a Tuscan style wine using the two Bordeaux varieties to achieve a stylish red wine with finesse and tannin structure to compliment.”Are you salivating yet? Here are my notes on the John Kosovich 2018 MPV:In the glass it’s a plummy red colour. It’s wonderfully and rather enticingly aromatic with red fruit, spice and dark chocolate coming through for me. In the mouth it’s juicy with raspberry and red fruit flavours, it has a strong backbone and a wonderful purity of fruit.
A well rounded red wine that’s drinking oh so deliciously right no This wine was sent to me as a sample, I was under no obligation to post about it.All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

We ended up cracking this bottle of John Kosovich Wines 2016 Chardonnay yesterday for International Chardonnay day It’s made from Pemberton grapes (South West WA) and I picked it up from their Swan Valley cellar door on my trip to Perth last year.If you haven’t visited the John Kosovich cellar door in the Swan Valley yet, do it! It’s underground and was hand dug over 90 years ago! Not only is it a cool spot to visit but the wines are . I’m a big fan of their Chenin Blancs too!
More about this Chardy: Hand harvested Matured for 6 months in French oak $36 per bottle. I would have loved to hold onto this longer, but I couldn’t resist. I must get some more for the cellar as I definitely think it’ll age really well over the next 5-6 years. It’s a pretty vibrant yellow shade in the glass. On the nose it makes me think of peaches, pineapple and vanilla spice with lemon citrus and minerality making it smell wonderfully fresh. In the mouth it’s got bright acidity with a silky buttery texture and it’s just bloody scrumptious! And I may have been pouring slightly more in my glass compared to Mr Spittoon’s each time… Shhhhh
All opinions are based on my own taste buds. Wine is subjective & always evolving, so make sure you drink what you enjoy!

Personal Experience Jan. 2019 • John Kosovich Wines was the first Swan Valley winery we visited during a trip in the summer of 2019.
The cellar door is downstairs, amongst the barrels of aging wines. We were served by Arch (Anthony Kosovich), who is now the winemaker.
It was very nice to start the day by drinking the wines in the company of the man who made them, while talking about his style and techniques.
He is a no-nonsense, straight-shooter kind of winemaker who likes to keep it simple and let the wines speak for themselves.
We tried all of the reds, plus the chenin blanc and muscat.
I was particularly interested in the petit verdot. Arch did not have a bottle open at the time, but was happy to open one for us to taste. It was very much to my liking, so we bought some.
John Kosovich Wines is a small boutique winery which produces a small range of very decent wines, and it is worth visiting for the personal experience of interacting with Arch in the barrel room which doubles as the cellar door.
Great wine and conversation Sep. 2018 • Dropped into this little winery after a recommendation from the tourist information lady. Loved the entry, huge wine barrel and wine barrels lined up. Loved the creaky stairs down to the tasting bar! The gentleman was friendly and welcoming. We purchased a bottle of wine but could’ve bought one of each! They are great wines. He also recommended a great place to eat further down the road from his winery that we had no intention of even visiting! Thanks Anthony it was excellent. My husband also enjoyed your company and conversation! Good luck on Saturday

- Here’s a little gem in the heart of Swan Valley! With a rich history dating back generations and a cellar door that’s actually in a cellar, John Kosovich Wines is a must if you are looking for great examples of wine in the Swan Valley.
Some beautiful Shiraz this year and their 2010 cab sav was a personal favourite of mine (think it’s all gone now) but my god the rare muscat! Now listen carefully… if you buy anything BUY THE RARE MUSCAT! it’s worth every cent! Like liquid gold on the tongue (not that I’ve drunk gold but I imagine this is what it would taste like if I did drink it and not metallic poison)
It has great atmosphere! Plenty of wine barrels on display to wander past on your way down and be sure to mention the football as Nick Kosovich is a fan!

You will be also impressed by a lot of big wine barrels over there. Even though not easily for you to see the wine barrels at Margaret River! So come here to make your trip easier!

Coolest cellar door! Walk down the stairs and enter the cellar that is used as a cellar door as well as where they store their wine casks for aging. Great setting for tasting wines from knowledgable staff. The wines are delicious and although the range is not large I couldn’t fault either the reds or the whites. Beautiful little spot to stop in and definitely worth the visit on the tour of the valley. Doesn’t take large groups but I think it would lose some of its appeal if it did.
